Important Questions
As a professional maternity portrait photographer, I understand that expectant moms have many questions about how to capture this special moment. Here are some of the most common questions:
1. When is the best time for a maternity photo session? The best time is between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. During this period, your belly is nicely visible, and you will still feel comfortable and energetic for the session.
2. Where can the photo session take place? Most maternity sessions take place in my photography studio in Playa del Carmen, but we can also have the session at an outdoor location that has special meaning to you or in the comfort of your home. We can discuss and decide on the best place based on your individual vision and needs. (Note: sessions at external locations have an additional cost of $250).
3. What should I wear for the photoshoot? It's best to wear comfortable clothing that accentuates your baby bump. Loose dresses, fitted tops, or a mix of both can create flattering silhouettes. I recommend avoiding bold patterns or large logos that could distract from your belly. We can discuss wardrobe options in detail beforehand to ensure you look and feel amazing.
4. Can my partner and other children join the shoot? Absolutely! Including your partner and older siblings adds extra love and excitement to your maternity portraits.
5. How long does the maternity photoshoot last? Typically, a maternity photoshoot lasts around an hour, though it can vary depending on wardrobe changes. I strive to create a relaxed atmosphere, allowing plenty of time for breaks and ensuring your comfort throughout the session.
